Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States; hybrid employees should expect to work onsite up to 2 days per week, with additional onsite work possible during some project phases. Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain an Active Secret Clearance; interim clearance is sufficient to start.

What you will do

• Define software architectures for large-scale communications system demonstrations.
• Design and implement system software primarily in C++, including protocols and state machines.
• Translate prototype simulations into real-time code and develop communications-based software with multidisciplinary teams.
• Design integration tests and support laboratory and field experiments.
• Prepare software architecture documentation, technical specifications, reports, and presentations.

Requirements

• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain an Active Secret Clearance are required; an interim clearance is sufficient to start.
• Bachelor of Science degree and 5+ years of directly relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with C++11 or later, Java, JavaScript, object-oriented software design, software development, and Linux.
• Experience with software architecture, UML, design patterns, data structures, distributed systems, interprocess communication, hardware abstraction layers, software deployment, SDLC, and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with DevSecOps environments, source control, build tools such as Maven, Gradle, Make, or Autotools, and Git or GitLab.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Python or MATLAB programming experience.
• Digital signal processing and implementation of related protocols and methods.
• Experience with MATLAB signal-processing techniques or Microsoft Project.
