What you will do

• Develop principles and policies for safety, privacy, user autonomy, and product usefulness.
• Investigate user reports, emerging risks, and new requirements, turning ambiguous issues into clear decisions.
• Build processes for triage, investigation, escalation, documentation, and follow-through.
• Work with engineering, machine learning, clinical, and legal colleagues to implement product and system improvements.
• Write internal policies, practical guidance, public explanations, evaluations, and benchmarks.
• Represent the safety approach with partners, clinicians, and external audiences while incorporating criticism and new evidence.

Requirements

• Strong judgment and the ability to reason through complex, uncertain questions.
• Excellent writing, research, presentation, and communication skills.
• Experience building and improving a product, operational process, program, or independent project.
• Resourceful, hands-on execution skills, including investigating cases, coordinating stakeholders, and creating practical documentation.
• Ability to work carefully with sensitive information and difficult topics, including abuse, eating disorders, suicide, and death.
• Genuine commitment to improving access to mental health support and protecting user trust.

Nice to have

• Background in product, operations, consulting, law, policy, psychology, cognitive science, or a related field.
• Clinical qualifications or previous trust and safety experience.
