What you will do

• Provide Group-wide health and safety expertise, advice, risk oversight, and challenge to risk owners, business units, group functions, and governance forums.
• Develop, maintain, and review health and safety policies, standards, legal registers, and management-system requirements.
• Define minimum control and evidence expectations while maintaining independence from first-line control ownership.
• Conduct health and safety inspections, compliance reviews, control assessments, and risk-based assurance activities.
• Analyse risk, control, incident, assurance, and compliance information to identify trends, systemic weaknesses, and emerging risks.
• Monitor remediation actions, assess closure evidence, and present risk insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in health and safety, risk, compliance, or assurance within a large, complex, or regulated organisation.
• Strong knowledge of global health and safety legislation and the ability to interpret regulatory change.
• Experience developing health and safety policies, standards, legal registers, or management-system requirements.
• Experience designing or delivering risk-based assurance, compliance reviews, or control assessments.
• Ability to analyse complex risk and control information and produce evidence-based conclusions.
• Strong communication, judgement, influencing, and constructive challenge skills.
