Staff Software Engineer, Digital Engineering (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Denver, Colorado or Long Beach, California. Occasional travel to company, government, or partner sites may be required.

Base salary: $170,000–$245,000 in Denver, Colorado; $175,000–$255,000 in Long Beach, California, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design domain data models and workflows for parts, revisions, bills of materials, change orders, and as-built records.
• Architect services, APIs, integrations, and event-driven data flows across product, manufacturing, and operations systems.
• Build and operate full-stack applications end to end, including data models, services, workflows, and web interfaces.
• Lead migrations from commercial off-the-shelf systems to in-house software while preserving data traceability.
• Build observability, auditability, synchronization health, and data-quality capabilities into production systems.
• Set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and collaborate with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and business-systems users.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience designing and shipping production applications, services, and integrations.
• End-to-end web application development experience with modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React.
• Deep experience with API design, event-driven architecture, data transformation, versioned domain records, and cross-system traceability.
• Cloud and infrastructure expertise, including AWS, networking, security, observability, CI/CD, and production data quality.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Go or Python, plus experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or otherwise eligible under ITAR, and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLM, ERP, MES, requirements or ALM, and MBSE systems.
• Experience migrating organizations from commercial systems to in-house software and supporting user adoption.
• Experience with digital thread concepts, product-lifecycle data, Go, Terraform, GitOps, or CI/CD.
• Background in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another regulated hardware-driven domain.
