Staff Software Engineer, Nodal® - IntelliScript (Remote)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States; travel to the hirify.global office in Brookfield, Wisconsin and nationwide travel for meetings, conferences, and team events may be required.

Salary: $117,500–$222,985 annually. Location-based ranges include $135,125–$222,985 for selected states and $117,500–$193,900 elsewhere.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable software solutions for the Nodal® AI-powered P&C claims platform.
• Architect React/TypeScript and Next.js front-end applications alongside Django and REST backend services.
• Integrate data science, AI and model-driven outputs into production workflows.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, actuaries, and subject-matter experts to translate claims needs into product requirements.
• Build automated, unit, and integration tests; participate in code reviews and improve maintainability.
• Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, security, encryption, SQL databases, and asynchronous integrations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, React, Django or similar Python frameworks, and REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and full software development lifecycles.
• Knowledge of domain-driven design, microservice architecture, event-driven architecture, test automation, and secure software development.
• Strong technical design, debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and requirements analysis skills.
• Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the United States and travel to the Brookfield office and nationwide as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with HIPAA or other sensitive-data environments and P&C insurance.
• Cloud certifications, test-driven development, and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, model explainability, agent integrations, or Databricks.
• Advanced education or continued professional education.
