Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Fully remote in the UK or France; candidates outside these locations and time zones are not considered.

What you will do

• Build and improve internal developer platforms, self-service tooling, project templates, CI/CD pipelines, and golden paths.
• Operate and evolve highly available AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, and MongoDB Cloud infrastructure.
• Modernize GitOps delivery workflows using tools such as ArgoCD and improve infrastructure through Terraform.
• Improve developer onboarding, documentation, enablement, and engineering adoption of AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.
• Harden production systems, improve observability, define SLAs/SLOs, and deliver reliability, security, and infrastructure cost improvements.
• Influence the platform roadmap, make architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Security and Implementation teams.

Requirements

• Senior-level platform or software engineering experience, with approximately 3–5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with AWS services including IAM, S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, and Lambda, plus production Kubernetes operations in multi-tenant environments.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and deployment tooling such as Helm.
• Experience with GitOps CI/CD tools such as Argo CD or Flux, and with MongoDB or similar managed databases.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, TypeScript, or strong shell scripting, along with strong communication and cross-team technical influence.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana, ideally in standards-compliant environments such as ISO 27001.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal developer portals, service catalogues, custom CLIs, or developer platforms.
• Experience with DORA metrics, the SPACE framework, developer experience surveys, or similar prioritization methods.
• Previous product or application engineering experience before moving into platform engineering.
