Senior Network Engineer

Location: Richmond, Virginia; applicants must be Virginia residents. A hybrid schedule is required, with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during core hours of 9am-5pm EST.

Salary: $96,700-$145,000 national range, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise networks across data centers, campuses, cloud, WAN, remote access, and hybrid environments.
• Engineer resilient routing, switching, wireless, Internet, and cloud networking solutions using Cisco platforms and established standards.
• Design and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF environments, as well as VPN, SASE/SSE, SD-WAN, and Zero Trust access technologies.
• Resolve complex incidents, outages, and performance issues while improving monitoring, observability, capacity planning, and operational reliability.
• Develop network documentation, configuration standards, automation, and infrastructure-as-code solutions using scripting technologies.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, application, operations, vendor, and managed service teams; mentor less experienced engineers and coordinate technical workstreams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, network operations, network architecture, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong enterprise routing and switching experience, including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
• Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, SD-WAN, DNS, NTP, DHCP, IPAM, and network segmentation.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls, preferably Palo Alto Networks, and cloud networking in Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with network monitoring, automation, scripting, and technologies such as Python, PowerShell, or Ansible; strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• CCNP, CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Prisma Access, SSE/SASE, NAC, microsegmentation, Zero Trust, IaC, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, LogicMonitor, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001.
• Experience supporting distributed enterprise environments, mentoring engineers, or coordinating technical delivery.
