Senior Software Engineer, Remitly Business (React/TypeScript/Go)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, United States; onsite Tuesday through Thursday each week, with additional onsite attendance possible.

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 starting base salary.

What you will do

• Design and ship full-stack features across React frontends, backend services, APIs, and data systems.
• Build scalable money-movement flows with idempotency, observability, accurate ledgering, reconciliation, and compliance gating.
• Set technical standards for secure, reliable, well-tested, extensible, and scalable systems.
• Develop product and technical roadmaps while balancing user experience, priorities, and long-term sustainability.
• Mentor engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews and represent technical standards during interviews.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Full-stack experience with React, TypeScript, and Go.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant software on cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Experience leading large features, breaking work into parallel workstreams, estimating timelines, and coaching engineers.
• Clear written and in-person communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments, fintech, or money movement.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
