Test Automation Engineer (Java/Selenium)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; core hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM ET.

Salary: $115,000–$120,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated functional, regression, API, smoke, accessibility, performance, load, stress, and endurance test suites.
• Develop API contract tests for internal and partner-facing REST services.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Validate application functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing across enterprise systems.
• Create data-driven test scenarios with relational SQL and application datasets, monitor execution, analyze results, and support defect resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, and DevSecOps engineers while evaluating AI-assisted test generation, analysis, reporting, and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline and 8 years of experience in software development, testing, and quality assurance, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Java, VS Code, 508 accessibility, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Xray.
• Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs clinical pharmacy applications and workflows, such as VistA, CPRS, FILEMAN, or VA FORUM.
• Experience with CI/CD integration, performance testing, relational SQL queries, SDLC/STLC, ALM, and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain VA Public Trust clearance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience with AI-assisted testing where appropriate.

Nice to have

• Experience with Angular or React, REST API, JSON, VA ATI, Maven, JavaScript, Spring, Jasmine, Postman, Newman, CSS selectors, HTML, JMeter, CodeQL, or Oracle SQL.
• Experience supporting VA, regulated, or federal healthcare applications.
• Experience with federal cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services GovCloud or S3.
