TL;DR
Lead Test Engineer (Cloud/DevSecOps): Leading enterprise quality engineering for a federal application modernization program spanning applications, APIs, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and distributed systems with an accent on automated frameworks, test governance, and integration quality. Focus on integrating continuous testing into CI/CD, coordinating end-to-end testing across multiple contractors and environments, and validating performance, scalability, resiliency, security, and operational reliability.
Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; Suitland, Maryland, United States; Virginia, DC, Maryland Metro Area. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance are required.

What you will do
- Provide technical leadership across testing and quality engineering for a large-scale federal modernization program.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automated testing frameworks, scripts, reusable components, and validation frameworks.
- Lead API, integration, regression, system, performance, load, and end-to-end testing across distributed systems.
- Develop formal test plans, cases, scripts, scenarios, TEMP documentation, Test Analysis Reports, and release readiness reports.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines while coordinating testing across vendors, teams, systems, and environments.
- Manage defects, analyze quality metrics, ensure operational reliability, and mentor test engineers.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- 10–14 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or enterprise testing leadership.
- Experience leading testing for complex enterprise systems and modernization initiatives.
- Strong experience with automated testing strategies, test data management, formal testing artifacts, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience with API, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing, including CI/CD and DevSecOps environments.
- Experience with GitLab, Jira, Xray, Selenium, Jenkins, Cucumber, Playwright, Qmetry, cloud-native systems, and Agile, SAFe, and Waterfall methodologies.
Nice to have
- ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, CSTP, or similar certification.
- Experience with federal modernization programs and high-volume, real-time, or event-driven systems.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale automation and testing transformation programs.
