Lead Test Engineer (Cloud/DevSecOps)

Location: Suitland, Maryland (Hybrid); McLean, Virginia; Virginia, DC, Maryland Metro Area. US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance are required. Travel: 0–20%.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise testing strategy and quality engineering across a large-scale federal application modernization program.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks, reusable components, and formal testing artifacts.
• Lead API, integration, regression, system, performance, load, and end-to-end testing across cloud platforms, applications, data systems, and distributed environments.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines to enable continuous testing and quality enforcement.
• Coordinate testing across systems, vendors, teams, and environments while managing defect lifecycles and release readiness.
• Mentor test engineers and collaborate with developers, architects, DevSecOps engineers, and operations teams.

Requirements

• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• 10–14 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or enterprise testing leadership.
• Experience leading testing for complex enterprise systems and modernization initiatives.
• Strong experience with automated testing strategies, test data management, formal testing artifacts, and quality governance.
• Experience with API, integration, regression, performance, load, end-to-end, cloud-native, distributed, and high-volume system testing.
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, Xray, Selenium, Jenkins, Cucumber, Playwright, Qmetry, Agile, SAFe, and Waterfall delivery environments.

Nice to have

• ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, CSTP, or similar certification.
• Experience with federal modernization programs and enterprise DevSecOps transformation.
• Experience testing high-volume, real-time, or event-driven systems.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale automation and testing transformation programs.
