Senior Staff Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States and Canada. Travel for offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events may be required.

Annual base salary: USD 230,000–334,000 for US-based roles; CAD 202,000–293,000 for Canada-based roles.

What you will do

• Set the multi-year technical strategy and architecture for Infrastructure Services across compute, network and edge, and stateful platforms.
• Define infrastructure patterns, standards, and guardrails used by internal engineering teams.
• Represent Infrastructure Services in cross-functional decisions with engineering, product, security, and finance leadership.
• Act as an escalation point for major incidents and improve incident management, reliability targets, and disaster recovery.
• Lead cloud cost, capacity, efficiency, automation, and AI-assisted operations initiatives.
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, improve design reviews, and help develop infrastructure leaders.

Requirements

• Experience setting infrastructure strategy or architecture across multiple teams or an entire organization.
• Production-scale Kubernetes experience in multi-cluster, multi-tenant, customer-facing environments; EKS or similar managed platforms preferred.
• Working knowledge of networking, edge services, stateful data systems, and their interaction with Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience defining SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and improving incident response, post-incident learning, and disaster recovery.
• Demonstrated cloud cost optimization, security-by-design practices, workload identity, least-privilege IAM/RBAC, credential rotation, and tenant isolation.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar language and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, plus experience automating complex operational workflows at fleet scale.

Nice to have

• Experience with service mesh or service-to-service networking, including Linkerd or Amazon VPC Lattice.
• Experience operating MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, highly available multi-region services, or large SaaS platforms.
• Experience building internal developer platform abstractions, production-readiness frameworks, or AI-assisted operations tools.
• Background in security, identity, or other high-trust product environments.
