Technical Architect (IAM)

Location: Remote role associated with Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; New York, New York; San Francisco, California; and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Ability to travel up to 50% is required.

Annual OTE: $224,000–$308,000 USD for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington. Additional ranges are listed for other US locations and Canada.

What you will do

• Lead the discovery and documentation of business, functional, and technical requirements for Okta identity platform implementations.
• Design customer-specific identity solutions and translate requirements into functional and system specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight as part of a Professional Services delivery team.
• Support project planning, implementation activities, customer health checks, and project reviews.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and advise executives on strategies that deliver business value.

Requirements

• 8+ years of IT, software development, solution design, and technical architecture experience.
• 3+ years of consulting, application architecture design, IAM architecture, and cloud solution implementation experience.
• Experience with B2C and B2B customer identity use cases, including registration, MFA, SSO, delegated administration, and social identities.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture, LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, SSO, RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, XML, SOAP, JSON, and REST.
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, or React, plus experience integrating on-premises and SaaS products.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; ability to communicate with executives and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Okta expertise, experience, or certifications.
• Knowledge of software development security, cryptography, API gateways, CASB, reverse proxies, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with Ruby, Java, Python, Perl, Git, Subversion, or open-source development tools.
• TOGAF, CISSP, or Okta Technical Architect, Consultant, or Developer certification.
