Senior Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; offices in Seattle and Paris are available for connection and collaboration.

Salary: $219,000–$352,000 annually in the United States, plus equity. Actual compensation depends on location, level, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and technology strategy for scalable, secure, and performant platforms.
• Design and maintain large-scale distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and strong reliability.
• Lead performance optimization, load balancing, capacity planning, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD improvements.
• Investigate emerging technologies and lead prototypes and proof-of-concepts, including AI engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, architectural guidance, and escalation support for complex engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, security specialists, and other stakeholders to align engineering roadmaps with product goals.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience across multiple domains, including software development life cycle and AI engineering.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in multiple programming languages, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and modern development frameworks.
• Strong architectural vision, problem-solving ability, leadership skills, and experience guiding diverse engineering teams.
• Knowledge of security best practices, compliance standards, data protection, testing, documentation, and version control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
