Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP)

Location: Remote within Canada; candidates must be located in Canada and legally eligible to work there

Salary: CAD 85–110 per hour, depending on seniority

What you will do

• Design and maintain modular Terraform modules for GCP organizations, folders, projects, and services.
• Build CI/CD pipelines that plan, test, scan, and deploy infrastructure and policy changes with approval gates and audit trails.
• Implement GCP IAM, RBAC, service account lifecycles, Workload Identity, and least-privilege access patterns.
• Build and secure enterprise networks, including Shared VPCs, firewall policies, Cloud DNS, Private Service Connect, Interconnect, and VPN.
• Implement security hardening, policy-as-code guardrails, and compliance controls using STIG/CIS benchmarks, Organization Policy, OPA/Rego, or equivalent tools.
• Enable production cloud services, lead technical design sessions, and deliver documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to client teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with modular Terraform in enterprise GCP environments.
• Strong experience with GCP IAM, RBAC, service accounts, security controls, and enterprise networking.
• Experience building infrastructure delivery and testing automation pipelines.
• Practical experience implementing STIG and/or CIS benchmarks and enforcing policy or compliance as code.
• Experience enabling cloud platform services in enterprise production environments.
• Strong technical writing, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Gemini Enterprise or enterprise AI service enablement.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience in banking, financial services, regulated environments, or GRC processes.
