Business Valuation Consulting Manager

Salary: $110,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead multiple valuation consulting engagements from planning through completion, managing scope, resources, timelines, budgets, quality, and client commitments.
• Perform and oversee financial statement analysis, valuation analyses, industry and economic research, and valuation report preparation and review.
• Conduct management interviews and site visits to assess clients’ businesses, operations, financial performance, and value drivers.
• Apply valuation methodologies, accounting principles, operational data, performance measures, and industry benchmarks to identify insights, risks, and opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, manage client relationships, support proposals and presentations, and contribute to networking, thought leadership, and business development.
• Lead, coach, and mentor team members while improving engagement execution, operational efficiency, and the strategic growth of the Valuation practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field required.
• At least 5 years of valuation or related financial advisory experience, including valuations for financial reporting purposes.
• Strong understanding of fair value measurement and U.S. GAAP financial reporting requirements, including ASC 820 and related valuation guidance.
• Knowledge of income, market, and cost valuation approaches, with strong financial modeling skills and experience analyzing historical and projected financial statements, forecasts, market data, and valuation assumptions.
• Experience managing multiple engagements and leading professional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, project management, interpersonal, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to have

• MBA or another relevant advanced degree.
• Experience with purchase price allocations, business enterprise valuations, intangible asset valuations, goodwill and long-lived asset impairment testing, and other financial reporting valuation engagements.
• CFA, ASA, CVA, or ABV designation.
• Experience with thought leadership activities, industry presentations, networking events, webinars, or professional forums.
• Experience supporting mid-market clients.
