Java/J2EE Developer (Night Shift, Production Support)

Location: Hybrid/remote in Reston, Virginia; monthly onsite meetings in Reston and a mandatory face-to-face onsite interview are required. Night shift starts at 11:00pm EST, with quarterly shift alternations.

Contract duration: 12 months or longer, with possible conversion to associate status.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and develop enterprise software with architects and technical leads.
• Build and maintain Java/J2EE applications and RESTful web services using Spring-based frameworks.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and document system changes.
• Provide production support, maintenance programming, troubleshooting, and ticket resolution.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce software development best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 6 years of Java experience stated as a specific requirement.
• Experience with Java/JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Spring Security, Hibernate, MyBatis, RESTful web services, JSON, SQL, and Maven.
• At least 3 years of APIM and production support experience.
• Experience with JUnit or TestNG, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or jQuery.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and clean-code skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Integration and Big Data.
• Experience with security protocols and tools such as SSO, OAuth2, or IBM WebSeal.
