Manager, Revenue Accounting (R5543)

Location: San Diego, California; on-site

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Own and evolve revenue recognition policies under ASC 606, including standalone selling price analyses and allocations.
• Lead the monthly revenue close covering revenue recognition, deferred and unbilled revenue, contract assets and liabilities, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Analyze revenue trends, period-over-period fluctuations, and unusual or non-recurring transactions for Accounting and Finance leadership.
• Partner with Revenue Operations, Billing, Accounts Receivable, FP&A, Sales, Legal, and other teams across the revenue lifecycle.
• Establish scalable revenue accounting processes, controls, documentation, and SOX readiness practices.
• Improve revenue accounting systems, reporting, and data flows, and support internal and external audits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant public and private accounting experience with a focus on technical revenue accounting under ASC 606 and IFRS 15.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of general accounting, GAAP, revenue recognition, order-to-cash processes, and ASC 606.
• Experience with revenue recognition and order-to-cash systems, such as Salesforce, or equivalent tools.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance protocols and experience with high-growth companies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, organization, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Big 4 experience.
• Experience in SaaS or PaaS.
