Embedded Software Engineer Co-op/Intern (C++)

Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD $24–35 per hour; 8–12 month co-op/internship

What you will do

• Develop embedded software with R&D teams and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Design, implement, and support C++ features on embedded platforms for high-performance optical products.
• Work independently or in a small team to deliver technically challenging products.
• Apply software lifecycle best practices, including unit testing, code reuse, and design for testability and support.
• Analyze and characterize software failures while solving problems in multidisciplinary teams.
• Share knowledge in object-oriented analysis and design, embedded software, distributed systems, and multithreaded system design.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
• Currently in the third or fourth year of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering or science program.
• Strong C and C++ programming experience.
• Strong experience developing and working with embedded systems and RTOS.
• Strong teamwork, troubleshooting, debugging, and written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with optical systems.
• Experience with TI DSP and BIOS.
