Firmware Engineer Intern - BS/MS - 2027 Co-Op

Salary: CAD 32–43 per hour

What you will do

• Develop firmware for hirify.global SerDes IP.
• Develop and verify new firmware modules.
• Build and improve CI/CD processes, including Jenkins-based workflows.
• Deliver module documentation, design specifications, firmware source code, and build scripts.
• Debug firmware, perform hardware bring-up, and support production firmware development.
• Collaborate with firmware, design, application, and SoC teams.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year bachelor's student or master's student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded firmware design, development, and debugging.
• Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Good technical communication and problem-solving skills.
• Eligibility to access export-controlled technology and software is required; an export license review may apply under U.S. export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Microcontroller programming experience.
• C/C++ programming experience in a bare-metal embedded environment.
• Experience with chip design simulation and verification.
• Knowledge of SerDes technology and PCIe host interfaces.
• Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and LLM technologies.
