What you will do

  • Develop, review, document, and maintain C/C++ firmware source code.
  • Analyze product requirements and develop firmware according to internal and customer specifications.
  • Perform unit and system-level testing, failure analysis, and debugging during development and validation.
  • Develop low-level firmware, system architectures, operating systems, and device architectures with hardware and ASIC design teams.
  • Work across firmware disciplines and contribute to the broader SSD architecture.
  • Coordinate requirements, validation plans, priorities, and milestones with engineering stakeholders in an Agile/Kanban environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with embedded software or firmware development, C/C++ programming, debugging, and software operating close to hardware.
  • Experience with Git, Python, and C/C++ debugging tools.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems, interpret test and debug data, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong written, presentation, communication, multitasking, teamwork, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of SSD media-management concepts, including flash translation layers, wear leveling, garbage collection, bad-block management, error correction, and data integrity.
  • Knowledge of NAND flash concepts such as SLC, TLC, and QLC and their performance, endurance, retention, and reliability tradeoffs.
  • Exposure to NVMe, PCIe, SATA, ONFI, or other high-speed hardware interfaces.
  • Interest in data-driven media-management algorithms that optimize SSD performance, endurance, reliability, and quality of service.
