QNX Senior Systems Software Developer (Tools & Compilers)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $108,750–$152,250 per year, plus eligible variable incentive pay.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance compilers, command-line utilities, runtime libraries, and developer tooling.
• Work with in-house tools and GNU or LLVM toolchains to support high-performance embedded applications.
• Investigate and solve complex problems across low-level system components and developer-facing tools.
• Collaborate on product requirements, architecture, and long-term technical strategy.
• Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to continuous technical improvement.

Requirements

• Strong software development experience in C and/or C++.
• Understanding of embedded software development and real-time operating systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills, including participation in technical and architecture discussions.
• Ability to work as a regular full-time employee in the Ottawa location.

Nice to have

• Experience developing, maintaining, or optimizing compilers, toolchains, or language runtimes.
• Knowledge of programming language implementation, code generation, optimization, or compiler internals.
• Experience with Linux or Windows development environments.
• Background in operating systems, debuggers, profilers, interpreters, linkers, or performance analysis tools.
• Familiarity with low-level software, performance optimization, or developer productivity tools.
