Systems Administrator - UNIX (Red Hat Linux)

Location: Fort Huachuca, Arizona, United States; onsite

Salary: $70,000–$74,000 per year

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and administer servers running Red Hat Linux and UNIX operating systems.
• Plan and perform hardware and software upgrades, including transitions from test to production environments.
• Monitor logs and system performance to troubleshoot operating-system, software, and networking issues.
• Schedule and monitor backups, perform data recovery, and configure workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
• Provide UNIX/Linux and general technical support through an on-call rotation.
• Maintain security compliance, including DISA STIG processes, and automate scheduled tasks with tools and scripts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, data science, information systems, information technology, or software engineering; equivalent experience may qualify.
• Experience requirement: 0 years with a bachelor’s degree, 2 years with an associate degree, or 4 years without a degree.
• DoW 8140 compliance certification such as CompTIA Security+ or Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.
• Red Hat Linux or UNIX operating-system administration certification.
• Active Secret U.S. security clearance required before starting.
• Ability to work onsite at Fort Huachuca, Arizona and participate in an on-call rotation.
