TL;DR
Linux System Administrator (Top Secret/SCI): Administering and maintaining Linux environments, collaboration applications, user accounts, and operational infrastructure for a high-priority intelligence community program with an accent on system availability, cloud initiatives, and security compliance. Focus on coordinating failover across availability zones and data centers, testing upgrades and patches, resolving incidents, and developing custom Linux scripts and operational procedures.
Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; U.S. citizenship required. Work includes Panama shift coverage on weekends and holidays.

What you will do
- Administer and maintain Linux systems across operational, development, and cloud-focused program environments.
- Manage Jira, Confluence, RocketChat, user accounts, and application access issues.
- Monitor performance, investigate anomalies, and implement configuration changes to maintain high availability.
- Coordinate outage response and failover decisions across availability zones and data centers.
- Test upgrades and patches in operational environments and support security compliance activities.
- Document incidents, root cause analyses, and corrective actions while creating user guides, procedures, and custom Linux scripts.
Requirements
- Linux system administration experience, including configuration management and performance monitoring.
- Experience administering Atlassian Jira and Confluence, RocketChat, and user accounts.
- Knowledge of system availability management, failover coordination, patch testing, incident documentation, and root cause analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification required before starting.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, willingness to obtain a CI polygraph, and U.S. citizenship required.
Nice to have
- AWS or other cloud service provider experience and knowledge of cloud-based architecture.
- Experience with cross-domain architectures across multiple classification levels.
- Experience with automated testing, monitoring tools, Engineering Review Boards, and Change Management processes.
