Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracting (AI)

Location: Regular work from a BCG office or in person with clients is generally expected for around 50% of working time, depending on business needs and local policies.

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on client services, vendor, technology, SaaS, licensing, NDA, subcontractor, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Provide commercially aligned legal advice, identify risks early, and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain global contracting playbooks, templates, negotiation guidance, and legal guardrails.
• Use AI tools for legal research, contract review, drafting, risk assessment, and synthesis while managing confidentiality, bias, and reliability risks.
• Partner with Consulting, Finance, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and business leadership teams.
• Support legal knowledge sharing, training, process improvement, automation, and technology adoption.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with typically 7+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracting.
• Deep experience negotiating complex, cross-border commercial agreements in a global or multinational environment.
• Experience working in multinational or matrixed organizations.
• Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, communication, and professional judgment skills.
• Confident use of AI and legal technology tools, including understanding of their limitations and risks.
• Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and influence senior stakeholders.
