Software Product Manager (LC/MS)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; remote work is available.

Salary: $167,328–$261,450 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, roadmap, prioritized backlog, and lifecycle for LC/MS acquisition software, instrument control, and software drivers.
• Translate customer workflows, field feedback, instrument requirements, and regulatory needs into software requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate instrument, software, firmware, driver, and test teams on interfaces, dependencies, integration milestones, and release readiness.
• Manage new-product introduction, compatibility, upgrades, maintenance, defect prioritization, and obsolescence planning for supported instruments and drivers.
• Partner with R&D, quality, marketing, support, and commercial teams on product positioning, launches, technical enablement, and customer-impacting issues.
• Shape next-generation LC/MS workflows and support applicable GC/MS capabilities within the MassHunter Acquisition software ecosystem.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Analytical Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in product management, scientific software, instrument control, software drivers, or LC/MS applications.
• Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, LC/MS acquisition workflows, instrument control, hardware/software interfaces, and analytical laboratory operations.
• Strong experience managing software product backlogs across the product lifecycle, with familiarity with Agile development and portfolio backlog management.
• Understanding of software drivers, device communication, compatibility management, and integration across instruments, firmware, operating systems, and laboratory software.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate across global R&D, quality, support, and commercial teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of regulated laboratory environments, software validation, cybersecurity, and compatibility expectations for instrument-control software.
• Experience with market analysis, competitive research, installed-base research, and voice-of-customer programs.
