TL;DR
Product Manager (Food Safety) (Regulatory Software/AI): Building and managing SureTrend regulatory modules and traceability capabilities with an accent on food safety compliance, product requirements, and interoperability. Focus on translating global regulations into software specifications, defining traceability data models, and coordinating complex quality and regulatory workstreams.

Location: Remote position associated with Camarillo, California, United States

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 annually

hirify.global develops rapid microbiology diagnostic tests and solutions focused primarily on food safety and other mission-critical applications.

What you will do

  • Own the product roadmap and revenue objectives for SureTrend regulatory modules and traceability capabilities.
  • Translate FSMA, HACCP, Codex Alimentarius, GFSI standards, and EU food safety requirements into product requirements, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define traceability data models covering critical tracking events, key data elements, lot and batch genealogy, audit trails, electronic records, and API/SFTP interoperability.
  • Guide product decisions for environmental monitoring, sampling, CCP monitoring, corrective actions, hold-and-release, recall readiness, and other food safety workflows.
  • Partner with Engineering on backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release coordination in Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, adoption, defects, and audit outcomes while mentoring product managers and presenting regulatory strategy to executives and the Board.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field; Engineering, Life Sciences, and Quality/Regulatory Affairs degrees are also considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in product management, regulatory affairs, or quality assurance, including at least 2 years managing software products in regulated industries.
  • Experience using AI tools, including large language models and AI-assisted prototyping or design tools, with sound judgment regarding accuracy, privacy, and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of QMS standards and processes, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO/IEC 17025, document control, CAPA, audits, change control, and nonconformance management.
  • Working knowledge of GxP, cGMP, FDA 21 CFR Parts 11, 210/211, and 820, EU Annex 11, ALCOA+, risk management, FMEA, and product traceability.
  • Experience converting regulatory requirements into software feature specifications and familiarity with Agile/Scrum and Azure DevOps.

Nice to have

  • MBA or another advanced degree.
  • Experience with inspection and testing, laboratory results and COA flows, supplier qualification, complaint handling, and recall readiness.
