What you will do

• Advise on the creation, governance, deployment, and commercialization of AI and data-driven products.
• Partner with product, technology, engineering, data science, sales, compliance, and legal teams on responsible AI and data governance frameworks.
• Interpret global AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance regulations and advise on product features, documentation, client deliverables, and launches.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, technology, AI, data licensing, privacy, and data processing contract provisions.
• Prepare model cards, transparency notices, AI contracting guidance, playbooks, policies, training materials, and risk assessments.
• Conduct audits and maintain records of data processing, compliance assessments, and legal risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree or international equivalent, with admission to and current good standing with an applicable Bar.
• 5–10 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 5 years of product counseling involving data use, automation, or machine learning.
• At least 2 years advising on artificial intelligence, machine learning, or algorithmic decision-making legal issues.
• Strong experience with commercial contracting, negotiation, AI governance, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, and global technology regulations.
• Ability to translate complex technical and data issues for business stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams.
• Role location: London, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Background in technology, computer engineering, computer science, or data science.
• Consumer packaged goods or data analytics industry experience.
• Experience with patent strategy, IP licensing, national security law, or cross-border data compliance.
• AIGP and/or CIPP certification.
