TL;DR
Senior Legal Counsel (EMEA Product & Distribution) (Asset Management): Advising on products, services, distribution activities, and complex legal and regulatory matters across EMEA with an accent on UK investment management, fund regulation, and commercial agreements. Focus on negotiating institutional contracts, monitoring regulatory developments, supervising junior legal resources, and supporting strategic product initiatives.
Location: London, United Kingdom; at least four full days per week in the advertised office under the workplace model

What you will do
- Advise on legal and regulatory matters related to products, services, and distribution activities across EMEA, with a focus on the UK.
- Lead the review, drafting, negotiation, and ongoing management of investment management agreements and strategic partnership arrangements.
- Support EMEA product initiatives, regulatory inquiries, corporate initiatives, policy development, and process improvements.
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting investment products, services, and fund distribution.
- Supervise and guide junior legal counsel, trainees, and external legal resources.
- Collaborate with global Legal, Product, Distribution, Compliance, and Regulatory teams.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction with the right to practice in the UK.
- Significant post-qualification experience in-house within investment management or financial services, or in a financial services practice at a leading law firm.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with large institutional counterparties.
- Strong knowledge of MiFID investment services, regulated investment funds, investment management documentation, and the broader asset management industry.
- Strong commercial judgment, negotiation, communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English required.

- Experience advising asset management businesses.

- Business-level German or Italian.
