Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Remote from LatAm, North Macedonia, Portugal, or Serbia

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and improve generative AI systems, LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, and RAG pipelines.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and production monitoring for output quality, accuracy, latency, cost, and reliability.
• Deploy, maintain, upgrade, and optimize machine learning models and pipelines, especially in AWS environments.
• Analyze data distributions and model errors, then design strategies to improve post-deployment performance.
• Lead client communications, gather requirements, define implementation approaches, and manage deliverables.
• Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and backend teams while contributing to architecture and technical strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of AI or machine learning engineering experience.
• Experience with GenAI solutions, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning and serving, search, embeddings, and agent development.
• Strong Python and machine learning expertise with scikit-learn, PyTorch, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, and Transformers.
• Experience with AWS ML services, containerization, orchestration, and client-facing work.
• Excellent English is required for meetings, customer calls, and business communications; the CV must be written in English.

Nice to have

• MLOps or LLMOps experience with tools such as MLflow and Langfuse.
• Consultancy or startup experience, including project management and adapting to different environments.
