Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic Systems

Location: Fully remote within the United States, or hybrid/onsite at the office in northwest Austin, Texas. Travel of up to 20% is expected. US citizenship and eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret US security clearance are required.

Base pay: $160,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential equity grants and cash bonuses.

What you will do

• Develop machine learning solutions for customer-driven projects and hirify.global products.
• Design and orchestrate complex data and agentic workflows across models, agents, tools, and enterprise data sources.
• Build, evaluate, and optimize LLM-powered agents and multi-agent systems.
• Integrate AI systems with external tools, APIs, MCP servers, and enterprise data.
• Analyze system performance and usability, contributing insights to improvements in the Chariot AI operations platform.
• Collaborate directly with customers, data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps engineers on mission-critical deployments.

Requirements

• BS degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related discipline, plus 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering data-centric production systems, including data engineering, data cleaning, ETL pipelines, machine learning, or production analytics.
• Experience designing, building, evaluating, and optimizing LLM-powered agents and agentic workflows.
• Experience integrating AI systems with external tools, APIs, MCP servers, and enterprise data sources.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, design patterns, systems programming, version control, CI/CD, debugging, and Agile processes.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in data science, machine learning, computer science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of client-server architectures, asynchronous programming, REST, GraphQL, React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience deploying containerized or cloud-based software using Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, or major cloud platforms.
• Experience with unstructured data such as imagery, video, text, acoustic, sonar, RF, or telemetry data.
• Experience leading a small team or delivering complex technical solutions in secure government environments.
• Active Secret or higher US security clearance.
