Application Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Leonberg, Germany; hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in offices, workshops, and labs

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving that enables vehicles to learn from real-world experience and adapt across different vehicles and environments.

What you will do

• Bring up software on customer hardware platforms such as NVIDIA Drive and Qualcomm Ride.
• Port and configure Linux-based systems, QNX, and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments.
• Integrate and validate drivers, middleware, boot-time configurations, and system-level diagnostics.
• Integrate hardware into CI/CD, hardware-in-the-loop, and test infrastructure with Verification and Release teams.
• Work with OEM and Tier 1 partners to resolve hardware-specific integration issues.
• Develop automation for setup, flashing, health checks, and test execution on target hardware.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software development, ideally including platform bring-up.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, Bash, and Python.
• Deep understanding of embedded Linux, including Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, and device trees.
• Experience configuring and debugging QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR on target hardware.
• Experience with automotive-grade SoCs, hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, BSPs, and protocols including CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, and I2C.
• Hands-on experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience with HIL systems, Vector toolchains, or custom CI rigs.
• Background in safety-critical systems and knowledge of ISO 26262, boot-time determinism, and watchdogs.
• Understanding of secure boot, OTA updates, and system-level cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Git, and JFrog Artifactory.
