TL;DR
Production Software Engineer (Python) (Manufacturing Automation): Driving the digital transformation of production by integrating MES, ERP, PLM, cloud systems, robotic equipment, and IIoT devices with an accent on real-time data flows and connected manufacturing. Focus on developing the MES, integrating scanners, printers, and test software, and building reliable production-system integrations using Python, Docker, Linux, OPC/UA, MQTT, and Kafka.

Location: On-site in Metzingen / Riederich, Germany

What you will do

  • Drive the digital transformation of production.
  • Implement, integrate, and administer software components for smart, connected manufacturing.
  • Ensure seamless data flows between MES, ERP, PLM, and cloud systems.
  • Integrate production equipment, robotic systems, and IIoT devices for real-time data capture and processing.
  • Further develop the MES system and integrate scanners, printers, and test software.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, with a focus on manufacturing and/or automation.
  • Solid Python skills and experience with object-oriented software development from design through testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, and Docker Compose.
  • Solid Linux skills and experience with Shell or PowerShell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with OPC/UA servers and middleware such as MQTT or Kafka.
  • German at native level and English at least at B2 level.
