Sr. Product Manager (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; hybrid working environment with some level of in-office and in-person expectations.

Salary: 196,350–292,600 USD annually, with final compensation based on location, qualifications, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Lead customer discovery with AI developers, platform engineers, and data teams to identify opportunities across streaming, search, databases, and memory.
• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI workloads across the Instaclustr platform.
• Define and ship cross-service capabilities such as governed data access for AI agents, AI solution blueprints, reference architectures, open data formats, and integrations with AI frameworks and model providers.
• Partner with hirify.global AI, storage, data services, engineering, product marketing, and sales teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Run design-partner and early-access programs, incorporate customer feedback, and guide roadmap decisions.
• Define adoption, usage, and revenue metrics while serving as the decision and escalation point for AI-segment priorities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including developer-facing products or data infrastructure such as databases, streaming, search, or cloud platforms.
• Hands-on understanding of RAG, vector and hybrid search, embeddings, agent frameworks, memory, and emerging agent protocols such as MCP.
• Experience shipping technical products from discovery to launch with measurable adoption.
• Strong technical communication and writing skills, including working-backwards documents and product requirements documents.
• Experience aligning multiple teams across organizational boundaries and applying business judgment to pricing, packaging, and managed-service economics.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or higher preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Cadence, or other open-source data projects.
• Experience with managed cloud services, customer-cloud or multicloud deployment, and cloud marketplaces.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage, data management, AI data governance and security, Apache Iceberg, lakehouse architectures, or AI application prototypes.
