Regional Associate, Cross Border (Sea Freight)

What you will do

• Coordinate daily sea freight and cross-border trucking operations, including bookings, haulage, bills of lading, customer billing, and value-added services.
• Act as the operational liaison between sales and commercial teams, customers, logistics vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
• Provide shipment updates, schedules, documentation requirements, and timely responses to customer inquiries.
• Prepare, review, and submit shipping, customs, import/export, ISF, AMS, booking, and billing documentation.
• Update the freight management system, validate supplier invoices, support operational reporting, and resolve customer complaints and shipment disruptions.
• Identify recurring bottlenecks and recommend workflow improvements to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of operational or customer service experience in sea freight or freight forwarding.
• Good understanding of international sea freight workflows and import/export documentation.
• Experience preparing and processing customs declarations, including K1, K2, K3, K8, K9, ZB1, and ZB4 documents.
• Familiarity with Royal Malaysian Customs Department procedures and requirements; customs clearance experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with customer service software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Relevant customs licence or certification, such as KLK.
• Ability to read and write Mandarin for frequent communication and coordination with China.
