Building Operator

Location: Onsite at Spectrum Square Campus, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Rotating weekday shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime and on-call participation as required.

Salary: CAD 67,629–70,000 per year.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and filter replacements while maintaining indoor air quality.
• Respond to tenant, property management, and emergency requests while fostering strong tenant relationships.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of machine rooms, electrical rooms, pump rooms, and vacant suites.
• Coordinate on-site vendors and verify compliance with safety procedures and internal policies.
• Oversee third-party reporting for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of commercial building operations experience.
• Diploma or certificate in Building Systems, HVAC, Building Environmental Systems, or a related technical field from a recognized Ontario college.
• Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment, HVAC, plumbing, building automation, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Authorization to work full time in Canada is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Knowledge of WHMIS, lockout/tagout, fall protection, mould safety, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, and DDC systems.
