What you will do

• Execute in vivo ultrasound imaging experiments in rodents, including animal handling, imaging setup, calibration, alignment, session execution, data quality control, and handoff to analysis partners.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to improve in vivo validation pipelines for molecular biosensors.
• Perform surgical workflows, ultrasound imaging, sensory and behavioral paradigms, and ex vivo characterization.
• Design experiments to benchmark biosensor performance in physiologically relevant neuroscience contexts.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, inventories, imaging hardware, surgical supplies, consumables, and protocols.
• Learn new techniques and contribute to in vivo imaging method development.

Requirements

• BS, BA, or MS in Neuroscience, Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with in vivo brain imaging experiments in model organisms such as mice.
• Experience with sensory or behavioral experiments involving simultaneous imaging and/or stimulation.
• Experience in an academic or industry research laboratory performing in vivo systems neuroscience work.
• Strong attention to detail, rigorous protocol execution, documentation, data integrity, organization, and cross-team communication.
• Strong interest in learning in vivo ultrasound imaging.

Nice to have

• Experience with in vivo ultrasound imaging or behaving animals during imaging.
• Experience with cranial window preparation and maintenance, stereotaxic procedures, or related neurosurgical workflows.
• Familiarity with imaging data quality control and processing workflows, plus basic Python or MATLAB scripting for sanity checks.
• Experience with ex vivo methods such as IHC, RT-qPCR, or FISH.
• Broader systems neuroscience knowledge and experience.
