Application Architect (Healthcare Payment Integrity)

Location: Remote within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii. The role is also associated with Chicago, Illinois.

Base pay: $92,700–$167,500 annually, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Define and execute application architecture strategies aligned with business objectives and enterprise roadmaps.
• Design scalable enterprise solutions that prevent inaccurate payments, optimize claims adjudication, and improve operational efficiency.
• Architect integrations across applications, databases, middleware, APIs, and healthcare platforms.
• Guide payment integrity solutions covering claims editing, audit recovery, fraud, waste, and abuse capabilities.
• Partner with Product, Business, Clinical, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to align on architectural direction.
• Support architecture governance, vendor evaluations, and strategic technology roadmap development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of Information Technology experience, technical certification and/or college coursework with 6 years of experience, or 8 years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience in application architecture, solution design, or product architecture.
• Experience with application development platforms, modern programming technologies, cloud computing, DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile delivery.
• Experience with enterprise integration technologies and API-based architecture.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Visa sponsorship is not available, including for candidates currently on OPT.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare payer, payment integrity, claims processing, revenue management, or related healthcare domains.
• Knowledge of payment editing, coding validation, reimbursement methodologies, provider billing compliance, and claims adjudication workflows.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, application security, healthcare compliance, and data privacy.
• Experience leading architecture governance, vendor evaluations, and technology roadmap development.
