Solutions Architect (AI)

Location: Nationwide remote within the United States; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the U.S. The role is associated with Reston, Virginia, and all work must be performed in the United States.

Salary: $119,323.00–$202,850.00 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct evidence-based governance reviews covering application and platform architecture, code, integrations, data flows, delivery pipelines, cloud infrastructure, security, operations, and accessibility.
• Compare delivered solutions with approved designs and standards, documenting findings, recommendations, technical debt, owners, and waivers through closure.
• Design architecture decisions, integration approaches, delivery guidance, reference architectures, prototypes, and proofs of concept for modernization initiatives.
• Use AI-assisted development tools across requirements, design, coding, testing, documentation, modernization, and troubleshooting with human review, security, traceability, and data protection.
• Evaluate platforms and solution options for mission fit, scalability, security, usability, accessibility, cost, vendor risk, and operational supportability.
• Lead small technical efforts, mentor junior contributors, resolve blockers, and present recommendations to engineering teams, contractors, and federal stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of progressive experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical leadership, including production web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship or Green Card status is required.
• Must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Hands-on full-stack experience with frameworks and languages such as React, Angular, Node, Java, PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with governance reviews, AI-assisted development, Git workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, cloud-native delivery, security, and Section 508/WCAG accessibility.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow development or configuration experience, including App Engine, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST integrations, ITSM, or ITOM.
• Cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and data or AI/ML platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or SageMaker Studio.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, REST, GraphQL, event-driven architectures, and reusable architecture standards.
• Experience supporting HHS, NIH, federal health missions, or multi-contractor environments.
• Cloud architecture, developer, or AI-focused certifications.
