Senior Trust Officer

What you will do

• Manage and administer Indigenous Trust accounts in accordance with client goals, governing documents, applicable legislation, and cultural considerations.
• Deliver tailored fiduciary solutions and provide trusted advice to Indigenous clients and communities.
• Oversee account administration, cash management, fee collection, investments, and risk management.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, investment professionals, lawyers, accountants, auditors, and other internal and external advisors.
• Support new business onboarding and resolve operational, technical, discretionary, and client service issues.
• Strengthen client relationships and support initiatives that promote financial literacy and community engagement.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of experience in the Estate & Trust industry.
• Knowledge of accounting, investing, trust administration, and complex financial, estate, and trust matters.
• Experience with Microsoft applications and familiarity with portfolio management tools.
• Strong decision-making, communication, customer service management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada at the specified location; a valid work or study permit is required where applicable.

Nice to have

• Member Trust Institute (MTI) designation.
• Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation.
• Current accreditation and good standing as an Investment Representative with CIRO Investment Dealer.
• Knowledge of the unique needs and characteristics of Indigenous Trusts.
