Scientist, Synthetic Biology (mRNA)

Salary: $120,000–$132,000 annually, plus bonus and equity incentives.

What you will do

• Design and develop synthetic genetic constructs for programmable, cell-type-specific gene expression.
• Build and test engineered genetic circuits in relevant in vitro cell systems.
• Plan and execute experiments involving molecular cloning, mammalian cell transfection, flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, and Western blotting.
• Maintain accurate electronic laboratory records and contribute to protocol development.
• Communicate experimental methods and results with team members and collaborate across functions.

Requirements

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of professional research experience in industry or academia.
• Experience with cellular and molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, qPCR, mammalian cell culture, and transfection.
• Hands-on experience with in vitro transcription of mRNA.
• Ability to independently plan, execute, analyze, and optimize experiments involving genetic circuit designs.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with flow cytometry, image analysis, or automation equipment.
