Location: On-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. First-shift hours are either 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, based on operational needs.

Expected base salary: $75,600–$100,800 USD per year, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

  • Execute high-throughput automated and manual workflows, including electroporation, lipid nanoparticle dosing, and chemical transfection.
  • Maintain and passage mammalian cell lines and primary cells using aseptic technique, including cell counting and viability assessment.
  • Prepare workflow materials and operate automated liquid handlers, electroporation instruments, and related laboratory equipment.
  • Perform downstream characterization using flow cytometry, plate-reader assays, and imaging-based methods.
  • Monitor cell health, workflow performance, and quality-control results; troubleshoot deviations and escalate issues when needed.
  • Maintain traceable records and collaborate with scientists and engineers to improve SOPs, workflow reliability, scalability, and traceability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cell biology, bioengineering, or a related scientific or engineering field, or equivalent education and laboratory experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant co-op and industry laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience, including aseptic technique, maintenance, passaging, cell counting, and viability assessment.
  • Experience with mammalian cell transfection, including chemical transfection, electroporation, or related delivery technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow SOPs while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work on-site during the first shift in Cambridge, with scheduled hours of 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Lonza Nucleofector or similar electroporation platforms.
  • Experience with lipid nanoparticle dosing, primary human cells, flow cytometry, cellular assays, or imaging-based methods.
  • Experience operating automated liquid handlers and associated software.
  • Experience in high-throughput screening or production-oriented laboratory environments.
