Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist (Neurological Testing)

Salary: $28.65–$44.41 per hour, plus shift differential

What you will do

• Perform standard, long-term, and ambulatory EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies, and other neurological testing modalities as assigned.
• Prepare patients, place recording electrodes, follow established testing protocols, and explain procedures.
• Recognize inadequate signals and abnormalities, troubleshoot technical issues, and communicate findings or changes to coordinators and neurologists.
• Complete patient histories, clinical observations, billing information, reports, and other required documentation.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, support quality improvement, and provide coverage across the Neurological Testing Center.
• Train new Neurodiagnostic Technicians and student preceptors while collaborating with physicians and NTC staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
• Registration in the relevant EEG or EMG discipline, including R.EEG.T through ABRET, R.NCS.T through AAET, or CNCT through ABEM.
• Board registry-eligible candidates may complete registration within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to provide care primarily to adult and geriatric patients, with neonatal interaction required for technicians performing EEGs.
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago on a part-time daytime schedule.

Nice to have

• Additional registration in EEG, EP, CLTM, or CNIM.
• Prior experience with multiple ENDT modalities.
