Medical Assistant, Certified - New England Neurological Associates, Lawrence

Location: New England Neurological Associates, Lawrence Office, with coverage at the Chelmsford Office and other satellite locations as needed

Salary: $24.00–$28.80 per hour, based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Manage patient flow, prepare exam rooms, escort patients, and maintain a safe and comfortable clinical environment.
• Prepare medical records, collect patient histories, document complaints and medications, and maintain accurate electronic records.
• Measure and record vital signs, pain levels, and other patient information across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, immunizations, and point-of-care testing.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, billing documentation, and outside paperwork.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, complete quality and safety checks, provide administrative support, and train or orient new medical assistants and students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National Medical Assistant certification or certification attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain it within three months.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience; three years preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for accurate documentation and message taking.
• Ability to work onsite, stand and walk for extended periods, lift 30–35 pounds occasionally, and handle exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens.

• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
• Bilingual communication skills.
