Manager, Industrial Hygiene & Safety (Pharmaceutical)

Location: McPherson, Kansas, United States; on-premise. The role supports a 24-hour/7-day operation, with limited weekend and overnight support as needed. Relocation support may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $99,200–$165,400, plus a 12.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead industrial hygiene and safety programs and co-lead high-level EHS projects.
• Conduct occupational risk assessments, process hazard analyses, incident investigations, workplace condition assessments, and compliance audits.
• Monitor EHS performance, report key metrics, recommend corrective actions, and evaluate injury-prevention measures.
• Provide technical support and training for site safety and industrial hygiene programs.
• Partner with engineering, operations, legal, regulatory, and external organizations to implement risk-reduction strategies and resolve moderately complex problems.
• Use EHS systems such as Cority, Enablon, and AI agents to support safety activities.

Requirements

• BA/BS with at least 4 years of experience, MS/MEng/MBA with at least 2 years, PhD/JD with any experience, associate degree with at least 8 years, or high school diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical experience implementing industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental programs.
• Working knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Leadership, analytical, judgment, interpersonal, negotiation, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in science, engineering, technical, or related fields with substantial project management experience.
• Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, IH, EIT, PE, or PMP.
• Facility or contractor safety experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, regulatory organizations, and technical support for site safety and industrial hygiene programs.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
