Senior/Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Annual base salary: $130,000–$190,000

What you will do

• Design Python-based validation frameworks, drivers, automation tools, and scalable regression systems.
• Develop embedded firmware in C, device drivers, board-support packages, and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Build GUIs and customer-facing debug tools for evaluation kits.
• Create databases for test logs, validation results, and analysis.
• Debug system-level issues across firmware, software, hardware interfaces, and silicon during bring-up and testing.
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, firmware, and silicon design teams.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of embedded firmware or bring-up software development experience.
• Strong Python skills for automation, scripting, and test framework development.
• Experience with embedded system bring-up, debugging, and fundamentals such as interrupts, peripherals, and timing.
• Familiarity with I2C, SPI, I3C, and JTAG, plus automation of laboratory instruments such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Experience with validation databases and GUI application development.

Nice to have

• Experience with wireless, networking, motor control, power management, sensors, security, bootloaders, or high-performance computing.
• Silicon bring-up, firmware programming and debugging, or manufacturing deployment experience.
• Ability to read schematics and support analog and digital board-level debugging.
