Senior/ Associate Staff Wireless Embedded Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for low-power wireless MCUs and SDKs.
• Own features from requirements and design through implementation, validation, release, and long-term support.
• Build low-level firmware including device drivers, startup code, timing-sensitive system software, and radio control features.
• Optimize real-time embedded software for performance, reliability, power efficiency, and memory and CPU utilization.
• Debug complex issues across software, firmware, hardware, and system boundaries using lab tools and debuggers.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, silicon, systems, product, and test engineers while contributing to automated testing, reviews, tooling, and mentoring.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional embedded software or firmware development experience.
• Strong Embedded C and/or C++ programming skills.
• Experience with microcontrollers in resource-constrained, real-time environments, including bare-metal and/or RTOS-based systems.
• Experience with low-level embedded software, hardware-software debugging, and tools such as JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or debuggers.
• Experience using AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making.

Nice to have

• Wireless or connectivity experience with Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, or proprietary radio systems.
• Experience with communication stacks, PHY/MAC functionality, radio control software, or other timing-critical embedded software.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, timers, interrupts, Python, automated testing, CI, validation frameworks, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience with silicon bring-up, hardware validation, multicore microcontrollers, concurrency, synchronization, or shared-resource challenges.
• Familiarity with ARM or RISC-V assembly and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
