Senior Engineer I - Applications (Embedded Storage)

Location: Roseville, California, United States; travel within North America and internationally may be required for customer-site support and meetings.

Annual base salary: $70,304–$205,000.

What you will do

• Support, manage, and resolve technical issues involving data center hardware, firmware, and software products.
• Debug firmware, software, and protocol-level issues for enterprise storage devices.
• Work with customers and cross-functional teams from requirements gathering through post-production support.
• Develop firmware manuals, quick-start guides, release notes, errata, application notes, debug tools, and other customer collateral.
• Deliver product training and demonstrate new products to customers and at industry events.
• Conduct feasibility studies, investigations, proofs of concept, and prototypes for next-generation products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–7.5 years of experience in firmware development for storage or communication products, or AI/ML tools development.
• Strong firmware and embedded-systems development and debugging skills.
• Experience designing, developing, and testing firmware in C.
• Experience developing debug tools with scripting languages such as Java, TCL/TK, Perl, or Python.
• Knowledge of SoC architecture, customer-facing work, communication, problem-solving, and independent and collaborative work.
