Project Engineer - Prot (SAO) (Power Systems)

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States; domestic and international travel up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $97,700–$144,400 annually. Other levels may be considered: Associate Engineer $84,200–$124,500, Lead Engineer $115,300–$170,400 annually.

What you will do

• Lead technical evaluation and development of customer proposals for complex power system and automation projects.
• Review RFQs and technical specifications and develop cost-effective technical solutions.
• Prepare work statements, preliminary designs, responsibility matrices, risk assessments, cash flow forecasts, and project schedules.
• Act as technical lead across project conceptual design, detailed design, execution, development, and support.
• Lead project teams, resolve customer concerns, and support long-term customer relationships.
• Collaborate with Contracts and cross-functional teams to finalize project terms and conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience with electric power systems or industrial automation.
• Knowledge of power system protection and control, integration, automation, communications, system studies, ICT, and protective relay applications.
• Ability to lead and supervise project teams, manage multiple solutions, and communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and through presentations.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
• Satisfactory background check and successful completion of required drug screening.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with an electric utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering firm, or system integrator.
• Project management experience and familiarity with Vision or similar project tracking software.
