Director of Talent & Performance (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 USD annual on-track earnings

What you will do

• Partner directly with the CEO to design and implement people strategies.
• Lead talent acquisition and build a rigorous hiring process for high-performing candidates.
• Implement performance management and top-grading practices, including a 9-box talent grid.
• Own HR compliance, HR risk management, and day-to-day people operations.
• Coach leaders through difficult people decisions, feedback, and performance management.
• Manage and support one direct report, the HR Operations Manager.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading people organizations.
• Strong understanding of performance management, top-grading philosophy, and organizational KPIs.
• Experience implementing a 9-box or similar talent framework.
• Experience in high-growth, high-expectation environments, ideally enterprise software or SaaS.
• Strong negotiation, judgment, conflict management, coaching, and feedback skills.
• Strong fiscal responsibility and budget management experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working with founders or executive teams.
• Experience scaling a rapidly growing company.
• Familiarity with Amp It Up or similar performance-driven philosophies.
• Experience making and standing behind difficult people decisions.
