Senior Data Analyst for Lab Production Support, Extended-Hours Support (ExHS) (Genomics)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States. Onsite weekend-shift role with quarterly rotation between Tuesday–Saturday and Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Salary: $145,000–$170,000 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide timely data analytics support to laboratory operations, unblock production issues, and improve patient-result turnaround times.
• Apply statistical techniques, exploratory data analysis, and trend analysis to diagnose operational issues and support decisions.
• Design automated solutions for recurring data-analysis and production-support workflows.
• Extract, transform, query, and analyze complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Lab Operations and Product teams on process issues, root-cause analysis, product support, and escalations.
• Document analytical processes and coach junior team members on technologies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Operational Research, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, including 3 years in data analysis, extraction, querying, and production support.
• At least 3 years of experience in a highly regulated environment such as CLIA- or FDA-compliant settings.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, data analysis, and statistical techniques.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake, cloud technologies, diagnostic-laboratory processes, and version control with GitHub or GitLab.
• Ability to work onsite in San Carlos and follow the rotating weekend-shift schedule.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of molecular biology, genetics, genomics, or bioinformatics.
• Experience with hypothesis testing, central limit theorem, time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and regression modeling.
